OTTAWA’S THE LOVE MACHINE OFFICIALLY RELEASE SWEATER WEATHER LP AND ANNOUNCE TOUR DATES

Balanced between a life in the nation’s capital and a busy touring schedule, this is the year The Love Machine make their mark in Canadian music.  Launching Sweater Weather the band’s third release into the arena, the brawny, pop-winged four-piece announce the official release and host their vinyl debut on November 15, 2011 at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. Meanwhile, back on home soil the band is competing in Live 88.5’s Big Money Shot competition.

With an energetic and dynamic show filled with crowd interaction, The Love Machine is sure to engage and intrigue onstage. The band has extensively toured the East Coast three times, along with playing numerous shows in Ontario. The Love Machine has played sets at Ottawa Bluesfest, Pop Montreal, Halifax Pop, NXNE and CMW. The band has shared the stage with acts such as Metric, Moneen, Passion Pit, and many others.

A highly anticipated plateau for The Love Machine, Sweater Weather has garnered the attention of fans across the country since its pre-release earlier this year. Named best band in 2011 by I(Heart)Music.net and gracing the cover of Ottawa Xpress a mere few months ago, The Love Machine and Sweater Weather are burgeoning and this project is the push to a synergistic pop. Building a dedicated fan base in a staggeringly short period of time, Sweater Weather LP is a range of mosaic pop tunes with feverish and elevated hooks, and weaves through a collective artistry that’s uniquely their own. In full swing, The Love Machine operates with smooth, focused and explosive stage execution, an exposé of talent four hearts deep, through their journey where no musician is left behind.

Produced by fellow Ottawa native Jonathan Chandler (Amos The Transparent) the vinyl release of Sweater Weather adds the detailed, rock-infused and homegrown touch the project needed.  Capturing the band’s perfectly reckless approach to songwriting, Chandler’s effort is the organic sweep of artistic integrity that pumps through the eight fists waltzing into every heart fluttering battle. BIO:

In a fast-paced world filled with chaos and uncertainty, stands The Love Machine - a band consisting of four hopefuls. Dreamers, some may call them, or optimists, as others may say. But in all reality, The Love Machine are a group of believers; genuine believers in love and a collective positivity.

Nothing about The Love Machine is manufactured. The name simply stands to represent their approach to writing music - as a team of talented and hard-working artists who collaborate with the swift efficiency of a well-oiled machine. This machine’s main function, however, happens to be pumping out indie pop rock tunes that capture the heart and soul of listeners. With a musical catalogue bursting with pop sensibility laced with twists and hooks at every turn and bridge, how could you not fall head over heels with their hopeful ideals?

The Love Machine - consisting of Allan Gauthier, Sean Prescott, Jordan David and Mike Laing - blossomed as a band back in the year of 2004, stemming from the amalgamation of two past bands that had befriended one another. Their chemistry as a group came naturally, as did their collective agreement upon collaborative creation, with each member contributing to the songwriting process. Similarly, each takes his turn on the microphone, thus proving that four songwriters plus four vocalists adds up to the collective sound that is The Love Machine.

The Ottawa natives have shared their music throughout three releases, their most recent beingSweater Weather. The album boasts the band’s ever evolving sound, and sweet production at the hands of Jonathan Chandler (Amos The Transparent). Sweater Weather represents not the departure or straying from the path of The Love Machine’s original sound, but rather a paving of new avenues to where they want to be.  It received recognition from the Ottawa Xpress newspaper where they found themselves on the cover and earned the  Best Record of The Year praise by Canadian music website I(Heart)Music.net!

It should come as no surprise that these boys know how to kick it live with engaging and dynamic sets filled with crowd interaction and energetic antics. They have taken their live performance across the East Coast on three separate, extensive tours, along with tearing up stages throughout Ontario, playing over 200 shows in their career. The Love Machine has performed with the likes of Moneen, Metric, Passion Pit, and at festivals including Canadian Music Week, NXNE, Pop Montreal, Halifax Pop and Ottawa Bluesfest.

The Love Machine has one simple message for their fans, current and future… Love is on your side!
